Safe Job Procedure
  1. Size up the load, if you think you need help ask for it. Make sure you aren’t lifting too big or awkward of a load.
  2. Check your work area. Ensure there is no debris or slippery substances that could lead to injury.
  3. Begin lifting. Get a good footing, place feet shoulder width apart, bend at the knees and never the waist. Keep the object being lifted close to your body.

Keep your balance and do not twist or turn as you lift.

  4. Replace object. To put the object down again, do not bend at the waist. Keep your back straight and bend your knees, keeping the object close to you until it has been placed in a secure position.
