Safe Work Practices
  • All work to be perfomed by a competent worker as defined in the occupational health and safety code.
  • Supervisor to carry our daily inspections of work site.
  • All personnel to maintain a tidy work area on site at all times. PPE is to be worn at all times. Tools to be checked regularly.
Safe Job Procedure
  1. Check layout and mark out. Ensure area, in particular walkways are clear of trip hazards. Safety footwear should be worn at all times.
  2. Check equipment is tagged. Use only correctly tagged and calibrated equipment.
  3. Secure fixings and supports. Use minimum drilling speed consistent with effective work. Ensure drill bits are sharp and drill is in good working order.
  4. Refer to safe job procedure for use of portable ladders. Ensure mobile scaffolds are locked. If an elevated work platform is in use refer to safe job procedure for EWP’s. Wear fall protection where necessary.
