Safe Work Practices
- All work to be performed by a competent worker as defined in the occupational health and safety code.
- Supervisor to be trained in risk identification, assessment and control..
- All personnel to maintain a tidy work area on site at all times. PPE is to be worn at all times on site.
- Hand tools and ladders to be checked regularly.
- Supervisor to be appropriately trained, qualified and competent in OHS and electrical practices for the task.
- Supervisor to carry out daily inspections of work site for hazards.
- Ensure you are familiar with the Electrical SJP before starting work.
Safe Job Procedure
- Confirm layout and make sure area is clear.
- Gather material. Make sure you have what you need and implement manual handling SJP.
- Make sure you have the right wiring and test before starting work.
- Begin installation from ladder or aerial lift platform install fixtures and terminate wiring. Follow SJP for portable ladders.
- After completing the installation, ensure the fixture is secured and installed to the relevant specification.
